Tutorial: Chrysants Silk Brooch

Want to try a simple, easy, yet fabulous project ? This is it :D Chrysants Silky Brooch. It is so easy and make me want to make it again and again.

What you need :
- Silky fabric (I use real silk, but you can use any cheap poly chiffon, shantung, faux silk, or anything, as long as it feel silk and has some glossy surface). Cut it in bias
- Glue gun & the glue
- Metal Brooch (you can use felt as brooch backing, but metal brooch is sturdier and holds the flower better than felt)
How to make it :

1. Cut the fabric in bias. Cut in size 10 x 80 cm, for a 10 cm bloom. You can adjust the length and wide of the fabric according to the diameter of your bloom. Fold the fabric into half, press lightly, and baste the the fabric joint. Cut the folded fabric every 5 mm ( as the image no. 1) till the end of the fold

2. Pull the basting thread, and join the ruffles. You'll get a beautiful full bloom of white chrysantemums. Don't forget to tie the thread' s end

3. Prepare the metal brooch and your glue gun. Glue the back of the flower

4. Put the flower in front of the metal brooch.
