Ruffle Your Hair

Ruffle Your Hair {and giveaway}

In case you haven't noticed, I love making headbands.
I made a bunch of these fun ruffled headbands for the Beehive Bazaar.
Today I am showing you how to make some for yourself!
Supplies:
A plastic headband
Strip of fabric that measures 1.5 by 10 inches
Needle and thread or a sewing machine
Hot Glue Gun

1.  Knot the end of your thread and sew a running stitch down the center of your fabric strip.
Closer smaller stitches equals more ruffles.  I like my ruffle to be somewhere between 3.5 to 4 inches long.  Knot the other end of the thread to hold your ruffle.  If you are using your sewing machine,
just sew a quick gathering stitch and knot your ends when you get the length you like.
For a longer ruffle cut our fabric longer to start with.

2.  Decide where you want your ruffle to sit on your head.  I like mine off centered to the right.
 Hot glue a little at a time.

Once I have the first end glued on I lay my ruffle on the table.  I slowly add the hot glue to the headband
and roll it down the center of the ruffled strip.

You should be all finished!

I like the raw edge of the fabric.  If you want something a little cleaner try using knit from and old t-shirt.
