Introduction
So, I love making hats, mostly berets. Here's a pattern that I made up because I had a small skein of yarn that was given to me, and this project uses a relatively small amount of yarn. It's a fun way to increase and decrease, and the pattern is really loose; try it your a different way once you get the hang of the pattern.
Materials List
Patons Brand Katrina (92% Rayon, 8% Polyester), 1 skein in color of choice (I used Limon), or any stretchy, Worsted weight yarn.Size F/5 (3.75MM) crochet hook.
Scrap yarn of a contrasting color for marking
Yarn needle

The Pattern
BrimCh 7
Row 1: SC across (6 sts)
Row 2+: SC on back loops only until piece measures 21in/53cm. Fasten off. Seem the two ends into a circle, being careful not to twist it.
Hat
Work in Rounds
Rnd 1: SC 60 evenly around edge of brim, 1 SS in 1st ST of Rnd.
Rnd 2:*CH 5, skip 1 sc, SC in next sc. Repeat from * to end.
Rnd 3: *CH 5, SC in ch space of previous rnd. Repeat from * to end.
Rnd 4-5: *CH 6, SC in ch space of previous rnd. Repeat from * to end.
Rnd 6-7: *CH 7, SC in ch space of previous rnd. Repeat from * to end.
Rnd 8-9: *CH 6, SC in ch space of previous rnd. Repeat from * to end.
Rnd 10-11: *CH 4, SC in ch space of previous rnd. Repeat from * to end.
Rnd 12-13: *CH 3, SC in ch space of previous rnd. Repeat from * to end.
Rnd 14: *CH 3, [skip 1st ch space, SC in next ch space]. Repeat from * to end.
Rnd 15: Repeat rnd 12.
Rnd 16: *CH 2, SC in ch space of previous rnd. Repeat from * to end.
Rnd 17: *CH 2, [skip 1st ch space, SC in next ch space]. Repeat from * to end.
Rnd 18-19: Repeat rnd 16.
Rnd 20: *CH 1, SC in ch space of previous rnd. Repeat from * to end.
Cut yarn and draw through remaining sts, tighten and fasten off.
Weave in all ends and block over a plate if necessary.
